Coal Harbour - Downtown Vancouver


Coal Harbour is located between Vancouver's Downtown Peninsula and the Brockton Peninsula of Stanley Park and is the name for a section of the city facing the Burrard Inlet. The area starts at Canada Place and stretches West to Stanley Park, right in the water's edge and bound by roughly Burrard Street and Pender Street near the Financial District to West Georgia Street bordering the West End to the south to Stanley Park to the north. It is an attractive mix of business and high-end residential properties.

In the neighborhood are many of high-rise residential apartments and Luxury condo towers with luxury that have their own elevators townhouses. Although Coal Harbour is right downtown, it is a calm little neighborhood. The discovery of coal in the Harbour in 1862 inspired the name. The area is also known under the name Blueblood Alley, due to the many large mansions along it. The northwestern part near Stanley Park invites you to walk and bike ride through the parkland, from where you have a wonderful view of the water and the private marinas. Around this area you will find a lot of little cozy cafes, restaurants and a number of options for shopping. Coal Harbour has one Elementary school and one Secondary school. Due to the location right at the harbour and the proximity to the city this is a popular destination for elite homebuyers.
